INVESTMENT CRITERIA
The IQ Capital Fund can initially invest between £0.25 million and £1 million in predominantly UK-based technology companies (£1.5 million for later-stage and non-tech companies). Follow on rounds can bring the total invested by the fund to £2.5 million.
PRE-SELECTION CRITERIA
- The Fund can only invest if the business has attracted the support of an ‘IQ Angel’ (An IQ Angel is a private investor with proven expertise and track-record in the investee’s sector who co-invests alongside the Fund, and commits significant time to the Company during the crucial growth phase). If your company does not yet have an investor fitting this description, IQ Capital Partners can assist in identifying and attracting an appropriate IQ Angel.
- Not listed on a stock exchange.
- Current investment round raising not more than £2m over the next 6 months.
- Product or service no longer than 2 years from sales.
- Require less than £10 million of equity investment to reach cash break even (unless current syndicate has the capacity to provide that).
IQ CAPITAL FUND QUALITATIVE CRITERIA
- The Fund focuses on early stage companies in high technology sectors (including ICT, Life Sciences and Clean Tech), but will also invest in more mature and fast growing companies in ‘traditional sectors’.
- Management team with track records in the sector and preferably previous start up experience.
- Technology at a post-prototype stage, although investment into disruptive post proof-of-concept technologies is also considered.
- There must be a clear and credible path to significant revenues.
- For non-tech companies, businesses must be post revenue stage.
