SHORTFUSE
ShortFuze has developed a complete solution for making high quality animated movies, with realistic actors, acting, speech and natural interaction. Moviestorm is aimed at 12-30 year olds who are fuelling the rapidly growing user-created content market (mySpace, youTube, Google Video, SecondLife etc), and both novice and advanced users. Moviestorm puts 3D animation into the hands of everyone.
Moviestorm uses the production technique machinima, which renders computer-generated imagery using real-time, interactive (game) 3D engines, as opposed to high-end and complex 3D animation software used by professionals. Shortfuze’s debut film, No Licence, received critical acclaim, and is still regularly shown at film festivals and game conferences worldwide. Building on this experience, the company founders Matt Kelland and Dave Lloyd were principal authors of Machinima (Ilex 2005), the first book on the subject for the general reader.
IQ Capital Fund invested alongside Jack Lang, an IQ Angel and the company's Chairman, who has played an important part in the company's rapid development.
